These Terms of Service govern your use of the website operated by Mast Core Lab at this domain and describe the basis on which advisory services are made available. By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Engagement-specific terms — scope, deliverables, fees, timeline — are set out separately in a written agreement prepared before any work begins. In the event of a conflict between these general terms and an engagement agreement, the engagement agreement takes precedence.

This website may be used to learn about available advisory services, to make contact with Mast Core Lab, and for any other purpose consistent with its intended function. It may not be used to transmit harmful, fraudulent or unlawful content.

Prohibited activities

You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of this website or its underlying systems; use automated tools to scrape or harvest content in bulk; impersonate another person or entity when making contact; or use the site in any way that disrupts its availability.

Access requirements

No account or registration is required to browse this website. The contact form requires a name, email address and a message in order to function.

We aim to keep this website available at all reasonable times. Periods of maintenance or interruption may occur without advance notice. We do not guarantee continuous or uninterrupted access.

Service modifications

The content of this site and the engagements described on it may be updated, extended or withdrawn at any time. Changes to available engagements do not affect agreements already in place.
2.3

Geographic availability

Advisory services described here are currently delivered to companies based in Japan. Enquiries from companies based elsewhere are welcome; availability will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

3. Intellectual property

Website content

All text, graphics and other content on this website are the property of Mast Core Lab unless otherwise stated. Rights not expressly granted here are reserved.
3.2

Engagement deliverables

Written documents, models and other deliverables produced during a paid engagement become the property of the client on full payment. Mast Core Lab retains the right to use anonymised methodologies and frameworks developed during the work.
3.3

Trademarks

The Mast Core Lab name and any associated marks may not be used in connection with any product or service without prior written consent.

4. Limitation of liability

4.1

The content of this website is provided for general information only. Nothing here constitutes professional advice specific to your situation. Mast Core Lab accepts no liability for decisions made in reliance on website content alone.
4.2

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mast Core Lab excludes all liability for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of this website or any services described on it.
4.3

These terms do not exclude liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Japanese law, including liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

5. Governing law

Japan Act on Protection of Personal Information (APPI)

Mast Corelab operates in compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (個人情報の保護に関する法律), as amended in April 2022. As an entity providing business consulting services from our office at 〒520-0044 Shiga, Otsu-shi, Kyomachi 3-1-18, we are classified as a personal information handling business operator under the Act.

When you submit a request through our contact form or arrange consulting engagements, we process only the categories of data described in this policy. We do not transfer personal information to third parties without your prior consent except where required by Japanese law, where necessary for the protection of human life, health or property, or where cooperating with national or local government authorities carrying out affairs prescribed by law.

Under the APPI, you have the right to request disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, cessation of use, or cessation of provision to third parties of your retained personal data. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at +81 77-522-6349 or through our contact page. We will respond within a reasonable period, not exceeding two weeks from receipt of your request.

Records relating to project assessments are retained for 5 years following the conclusion of the consulting engagement, after which they are securely deleted. Cookie consent preferences are stored in your browser and may be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture.
